Sally Kohn: We're going to talk a lot today about being hooked on things or behaviors that maybe we wish we weren't. How do you feel about labeling habits or behaviors as bad? And then do you know anything about how the choices of those words help or hurt people on these journeys to change their behaviors? So I'm glad you bring this up because this is really important. When we label something as good or bad, I have a good habit,. I have a bad habit. There's that judgment. It doesn't help it at all. Whereas if we label these differently, we just say helpful, unhelpful. That terminology is more helpful than good and bad.
