There's a quota agreement that says that the Chinese government has to admit at least 34 US or let's say foreign films into the country every year. Joe Biden negotiated that when he was VP. It seems like since the theaters have reopened, they're saying, okay, we're going to start letting these movies in. But what's troubling is that everything from Super Mario Brothers are not performing as you would expect.
