"I was broke as a joke, had a bunch of old art supplies and literally drew Dragon Mountain like in my old bedroom which was now my brother's bedroom and like the kitchen table. And I remember sitting down to draw one of the big monsters for the monster manual," he says. "It still sits with me all these years later is sitting at this kitchen table where I used to draw all the time at the kitchen table."
