The Middle Class Ideology of the 18th Century

In the 1970s, the term poisonous pedagogy was termed to refer to this kind of child phrasing. The 18th century was considered a century of progress with middle-class progressives participating in humanitarian efforts towards bettering the lives of children and animals. But unfortunately, these changes didn't go far enough in actually liberating children from their relative powerlessness or lack of agency. To this day they're still expected to fit into role and develop into an adult who's capable of participating within our current capitalist society.
