The Parallels Between Beowulf and Macbeth

I think it's really interesting and neat to see how they all participate in the same conversations. Sometimes one might be making a positive case where another makes a negative case, right? If you compare Boethius to Macbeth, you get polar opposites. I mean, this is a guy who's willing to dismiss any virtue in order to acquire the status, the power and everything that comes with it. He totally deteriorates to the point of being going, going crazy or dehumanized. And then eventually, like you said, that instinct of self preservation is taken away.
