Is There a Third Party in American Politics?
It's a peculiarity of america that we have this two party system, he says. A third would take away votes from the candidate you are closest to and will help the candidate your least sympathetic with - which is exactly what nader did in florida primary. The cleanest one would be to move to proportional representation, but i'm not really sure why it wouldn't work there too.
