Are You Trying to Compare Language and Music?
There's generally two behavioral approaches that you can use for these kinds of questions. One is called a dual task approach. You're trying to get people to do two things at once, and you're trying to see whether the difficulty that you get when you're doing these two things is above and beyond the additive difficulty of each of the tasks. So if this is really hard, then maybe that tells you something. And another thing you can do is relying on individual differences. People vary in how good their brains are, how quickly they were. But above and beyond some kind of general shared variance, is there a meaningful relationship between say how good your linguistic abilities and your musical ability?
