And so the laws represent the way that israel's communal identity and story and values are re shaped and recreated. In other wordsow within this story, you can see why the later biblical authors, and the author of psalm 119, love to meditate on the laws of the tora. They saw in them the wisdom and character of god that could give them direction for how to do good.
