When people say this chatbot is in pathic with me, what they're really saying is, I am hearing from this chatbot words that allow me to summon myself. And that's what's happening and that is what's positive because this chatbot really has not understood or been able to put themselves in that person's place. They know how to perform things that sound like empathy, but the person is not having an empathic experience. We are more connected yet more alone than ever in our real communities.
