The Problem With Personal Pronouns in English

At one time, both nouns and pronouns had different subject and object forms. But whereas nouns lost those particular inflections, the pronouns didn't with a few minor exceptions. Our personal pronouns are almost as complex to day as they were in old english. We're often unsure if it's you and i, or you and me, or he and mary, or mary and him. Part of this confusion results from the history, which we have explored over the past couple of episodes.
