The Importance of Insight in Therapy

Katie: What would you say to someone like me who was abused sexually and emotionally and neglected and therefore cannot love themselves or think they deserve nice things so they engage in self harm behaviors? COVID: Try a different style of therapy, just like myself. Let's try EMDR or let's say you've tried somatic experiencing or some different type. Maybe we try talk therapy, just basic talk therapy or maybe we want CBT. We want more cognitive behavioral approaches. More homework, more structured stuff.
