Are You a High Sensation Seeker?

There are two different chemicals in our body that control that influence our stress reaction. One is cortisol, it initiates the fight or flight response and then there's another neurotransmitter called dopamine which creates a sense of pleasure. These people that we think of as thrill seekers have lower levels of cortisol but higher levels of dopamine. So they feel more pleasure, but less stress during those high sensation seeking activities.
