The Importance of Usable Energy

We need the energy around us to have low entropy to be usable. Modern human history, industrial revolution and what is followed has been powered by things like fossil fuels. All of that stuff really though boils down to starlight. If such a civilization ever existed, the starlight would play a pretty big role in their overall energy budget.
