The Call of Conscience in Heidegger
I've in fact been on that very walk that he would take in the black forest. Heidegger has this hut over there for that it's kind of crappy. But okay, so the phrase that you use for the call of conscience in Heidegger is that it speaks solely and constantly in the mode of silence. And down Howard says that not only is silence active, but that it summons you to a kind of activity that opens up your own potential for further activity. So when I am confronted by a genuine silence, at the same time, I become aware of my freedom and my freedom to choose a new path moving forward or to choose who I want to be.
