Hunter: Bovington gets under my skin for that reason too. I think it's because he'd stared deeply into an abyss of unbelief and the faith that he had come to afterwards had this sharpness of perception and acuity but also existential relief. He had looked deeply into the extreme alternative and he lived with that as well which is part of what made Donald so remarkable in so many ways.
