Northwest's DC-9 fleet was going to be extended for another 10 or 15 years. Michael Levine tried to convince then manufacturers to produce a $15 million new airplane that didn't have any technology. The planes were already ancient, so they did overhauls on this fleet and all sorts of bad things happened. We do it and they didn't want to hear it. It really was.
