Sally was a big fan of the cross section, always had been. She'd drawn countless variations of apartment buildings whose facades had been cut away to reveal what every family was doing each in its little square. Ernest had only three drawings in the exhibit. Two he'd made in a rush right before dinner, of the trevy fountain, piles of shiny coins at the bottom of the fountain and then in the second, nothing left after the cleaning crew had come. No sun in either picture. And one he' made the day before at his mams.
