I think we have to impose certain norms in order to ensure that we have a structured society that provides freedom for everyone I think there's an ongoing guy elected between norms and values. Subculture is always constantly being diffused and reincorporated back into the mainstream because it's part of the rebel cell. We're encouraged to spend our money in a way that adds value to our human capital and build their reputation as commodified power becomes the main way we produce ourselves. So when you see this call for returns and traditional values however plagued by nostalgia and fantasy it is trying to re-assert a norm that feels outdated.
