Can I Really Listen to Pitch Accent in Real Time Communication?

Chinese learners are normally educated on tones right from the beginning, but it's still hard for them to really hear how those tones are playing out in real Chinese. So similarly, I learned about pitch accent, but I couldn't hear it. It felt like, wait, is this really happening? Because I don't hear this. But after just a few months of paying attention to pitch accent, while listening to Japanese, it got to the point where I could hear it very clearly. And if you just compare my recent videos of me speaking Japanese to the one from three years ago, you can see that my pitch accent accuracy has probably gone from like, you know, 50% to like 90
