A Brief History of Indian Culture
As a tribe settled in an expanse of land, these territories came to be known as genapadas. The tribes and their genapadas spread east, fighting and subjugating each other. In order to sustain this growing complexity ind consumption, different kinds of foods and crafts had to be traded for. Gradually, gradually, the society of pastoral warrior linages and the sedentary tributaries was beginning to transform into a very differ beast. We'll talk more about this emerging state apparatus in the next episode,. But for now, let's focus on the brahmin lineages who left us the texts that survive from this periard.
