Introduction
In November 2019, Indian travelers spent more than $500 million abroad. The Reserve Bank of India or the RBI has taken notice of this trend. Any foreign spending for purposes other than education and medical treatment will invite a 20% tax. This will be collected at source or what we commonly refer to as TCS.
