The Exile of Israel
During the exile, the people of God were filled with a sense of hopelessness. There's no sense of anticipation that God is about to initiate a healing work in our lives. And this is where many of us find ourselves now. We feel like we're too broken to be fixed. Or I have felt like healing is going to take too long for me to experience life with a healed heart before I die.
