For most of human history, and how humans evolved, was you got your tribal identity and your pecking orter, your status through war. That has been replaced by sports which is a non violent way to figure out where you stand in society. And i think money is that as well. Just because they're rich does not mean thy're necessarily smarter. Doesn't mean you want to hang out with them more. By and large, bho people want to hanging out with are people who are nice and ampathetic and listen to you when o and are similar to you.
