The Brain Can Only Retain So Much for So Long

If we don't tell those memories, they stay in the subconscious part of the brain. As we begin to tell them, we distill memory into experience. The more time we spend with a story, even if it's difficult, that experience becomes knowledge. And eventually that knowledge will get distilled into wisdom. Like I remember when my dad died. It was one of those world changing events. When anyone asked me how I was doing, I would just say, oh, my dad just died. And people do that thing when there's some shock like that. They responded one of two ways. But you're talking about not wasting suffering and telling stories can be really important for passing on knowledge
