Torhansen is a conservaion biologist in the western united states. He's written a book about climate change and evolution, looking at some of the species on the front line of global warming. Scientists tracked all the way to franz joseph land in the arctic circle where the little ork lived. They stropped tiny trackers to them to see how far the birds had to travel. And they predicted that the birds would be in the air for at least an hour to reach that ice. But when they got the first data back in from these little monitors, they were astounded because the birds had been in theAir for less than four minutes.
