Nina Simone's Road to Damascus

In 1963 Nina Simone experienced a kind of road to Damascus moment when a black church in Alabama was firebombed by white extremists. After that she actively joined the civil rights movement and began using her music to further the call song. She believed in violence too in some circumstances, I think she said the Clu Klux Klan weren't non-violent and neither were the police or the government if they felt threatened. Do you think she towards the end did find any kind of peace? I'd like to say yes but I don't think so, what do you think?
