The technology is like ray tracing reflections off of buildings trying to figure out what the actual distance is. It turned out that our initial approach we're just going to do the math and subtract it was really hard so we ended up having to throw ML at it. We had to throw machine learning at it and be like okay we've got the heuristics that we humans now. I think this is actually a very interesting domain where ML works best where humans can be but I can't quite figure out how to wait everything and then let a machine figure that out.
