They would conflate polls or poll sharing crime as the number one issue for black voters by conflating it with that means they want more police - which of course isn't really true. And so under the New York Times logic, these two elections represent a organic demand of black voters. But Brandon Johnson's election, they'll probably just ignore or frame as something else because it complicates and undermines this narrative.
