Neolithic Monuments - The European Equivalent of the Pyramids

Neolithic societies consistently edging toward producing exalted elites at the top. Those elites would then memorialize themselves and reinforce their power through the construction of monuments. These were monuments to a particular order of society and the people at the top of it. Newgrange in Ireland is the quintessential Neolithic passage tomb. Disarticulated human bones were found inside, and when Dr. Larric acid extracted ancient DNA from them, they belonged to child of first order incestuous union.
