The first step really is to go and talk to your GP about it. And one thing with exercise is generally if you do it quite late at night, that can actually interfere with your sleep. Also doing it at some point in the day or afternoon is generally better. Some people will get referred to a specialist sleeping clinic normally through the public health system.
