How to Read in Chinese
Linguists love to talk about context, right? The context of a word, when to use it, when you encounter it. So this kind of encountering vocabulary and understanding it in context, this is a form of proficiency. And I think also when you're reading in Chinese, there's a little bit more going on than if you're learning to read Spanish or Swahili or whatever. But obviously, we typically don't have tones and there are other tonal languages.
