jo's mam was given six weeks to live by doctors in the united states. Her last wish was to see the ocean before she passed away, so he and his siblings decided to take her down to mexico for a few days. She died shortly after they returned from their trip; kenzie remembers him as 'devastated' He never sent pictures with the siblings in them again because of all his boundaries that he had with witness protection and what not.
