The Origins of Birds
Charles Morton was an English scientist who wondered, among other things, where do the birds go in the winter? He and others clearly observed a number of birds feeding, nesting, and flying around. But once the leaves began to fall and the cold temperatures returned, the birds were gone. Nowhere to be found. Today, we know what happens, but it wasn't obvious to Charles Morton or anyone else.
