Poland is a very different country to the UK, France or Germany. The overwhelming mass of people in Poland identify as Poles and they're keen on national identity. They think that if you're going to change that it ought to be changed under conditions that Poland controls. Getting the balance on this right is very difficult. But nonetheless it's popular what they're doing.
