Why Do Names Come in and Out of Language Groups?
Names come in and out of language groups, not necessarily for any historical reason. There are problems with each of these possible prototypes for arthur that disqualifies each one of them as eligible to be called a real king arthur. The only thing that may be conceivably carried over was perhaps some connection between the name artorius and riding on horseback. But in my view, that just not enough. Furthermore, he only lived in britain for two years before transferring to dalmatia, where he eventually died.
