The Lord's Mercy to Lot in Genesis 14

Samuel Johnson: I think what this passage is doing is just reminding us that this isn't an isolated story it's connected to the larger covenant story that's been developing with Abraham since Genesis chapter 12. He says even going back to Genesis 14 when Abraham put himself at great risk to go and rescue Lot it seems that that Lot is almost being shown favor in association with the covenant with Abraham. The Lord actually he doesn't do exactly what Abraham wanted like fine ten righteous people in Sodom but he does spare Zorrah he is merciful in accordance with what Abraham prayed you know earlier  I can't even believe sometimes that stories like this are in the Bible so Sam will you tell
