You think that these institutions are supposed to serve you, and that the only way that they can work is that they serve you. Your assumptions are just wrong. They do not serve you. Some of them never did serve you. And certainly all of them, they do not have to serve you to continue - at least the ones that are deeply broken right now. Without any kind of shift to equilibrium, without any kind of significant disruption to this powerful, self collecting system, you're just not going to make that change.
