I'm Not a Populist, I Am a Socialist. Is That a Threat?

Matt Welch: There's all kinds of ways to be a populist without using Russian style disinformation tactics. This is something different. It's it's attention hijacking putting out so many falsehoods so quickly that media can't keep up. No one knows what to believe, he says. That's not just having a consistent line that's populist. It's what Steve Bannon said, right? The way we win is to flood the zone with shit. He also talks about social coercion and how intellectuals are increasingly worried about being canceled for saying stuff.
