There have been 11 instances where the US entered a recession with inflation way above the Fed target. It took on average 16 months of a recession to bring down inflation back to 2%. And we haven't started the recession yet because as you just said, the labor market is very strong,. But the labor market remains status quo basis on a spot basis is pretty strong. We are not in a recession yet. If we enter one tomorrow, history would say it takes at least 16 months until you have done enough to stop.
