Ear trumpets are being made invisible or camouflage to present yourself as if you have good hearing even though you don't. We see that also in deaf education - many deaf schools at first were a teaching in sign language. But then educators decidead no, hearing is enorm so we're only going to teach deaf kits to speech read or lip read rather than using sang language. And so you see that this this shift happening again in the way deafness in general is perceived.
