The Rise of Small Boats in the UK
Since small book crossings began in 2018, 70% of the people crossing the channel have been from five countries. The last figures I saw was around 90,000 people claimed asylum over the course of a year and about 45,000 of them arrived in small boats. It's partly because people found that it was an easier way to get to the UK, but it's also partly, we think, because essentially smugglers are marketing it. We should follow the route of other European countries and ensure that they are returned immediately to Albania.
