Reinsurers See Strong Price Increases in 2023
The first quarter of this year continued to see relatively elevated levels of insured catastrophe losses. There were multiple severe convective storms in the US, earthquakes in Turkey and Northern Syria as well as flooded cyclone losses from New Zealand. De-elevated levels of losses continue a pattern of higher than average catastrophe losses incurred by the insurance industry over the last six years.
