The Work of Ghouls at Cheeseman Park

In 1892, the city of Denver built Cheeseman Park on land that had been used as a graveyard. A local undertaker was hired to dig up and transport dead bodies for $30 per body. E.P. McGovern made money by dividing them up among his crew in order to make more profit. He was fired but instead of replacing him, the city just sort of called the job done and moved on with their plans - leaving 2,000 graves beneath the topsoil.
