COPD Exacerbation - Is There Any Evidence to Support This?

COPD exacerbation is a sustained worsening of that patient's symptoms from their usual stable state which is beyond their sort of normal day to day variation. To buy acute what that means is that it's generally going to be a worsening that occurs in a time period of less than 14 days. So here in the rest of this episode we're focusing on the exacerbations of COPD that could cause these patients to present acutely. The things that you want to be looking for are stuff like increased breathlessness, increased cough, more wheeze or more inhaler use,. Tight chest, increased sputum production and fatigue if you've got relatives or carers around them.
