Is It an Agave Cantalana?
In 2010, two students decided to run a DNA bar coding and they found 89% of it matched to that of an agave. Some botanists you spoke to have gotten close to identifying the plant. They continue to tell me they cannot ascertain that until they see the plant in its natural habitat. A Pondicherry scientist has offered to grow agave cantalana in his university campus from scratch.
