How to Role Play With Your Friends

I didn't play D&D or magic until I was an adult so it's like I'm sort of relearning how to be how to have fun with that stuff. As a kid we used to play an imaginary game that we called old times and we just like picked a point in history and then pretended we were from there love this do you have any specific old times you would return to as a young child? We're not talking like 15th century Venice we're talking yeah pre pre history mysticism okay like drew it a stuff and play like it's real.
