Emotional Intelligence and Rationality

Emotional intelligence is the ability to see the source of your own emotion and understand where they come from. So in that sense, it is very much a part of rationality, but it's not the whole picture. The same energy that makes you aggressive and push people around can be channeled into something productive. You must take what you're given the tool that you're given and simply use them for better and higher purposes.
