The Effects of Fixed Due Dates on Quality of Work
Economist Dan Ariella found that students who had fixed due dates wrote more and the quality of their work was better. The people who put all their due dates at the end of the semester ended up procrastinating, turning in work later. But it's an interesting study and I haven't seen anything else in economics journals related to that.
