QVIM: I would say much more earthly and grounded than you get from the King James. Vat in Hebrew is it may be a half syllable, but it's part of the rhythm of the text. And I think it preserves the sense of a kind of antique formulation. The greatest long piece of prose poetry written in English language in the 20th century is Molly Bloom's soliloquy at the end of James Joyce's Ulysses. So it works for literary English.
