Caracas Declaration of Independence

The congress in caracas declared independence from the regency that was holed up in the port of cadis and its allegedly pan imperial qartes. Gangs of patriotic citizens marched around, harassing and disarming all remaining peninsulares who still professed loyalty to king ferdinand. The mixed race pardo community and even free blacks in the capital were wary of the new regime but joined in the excitement.
